About
I earned a PhD with distinction from Leiden University in April 2025, where my research explored the complexities of socio-economic integration of migrants in high-income countries. You can view my dissertation here.
During the course of my PhD, in 2022, I worked as an External Consultant to the International Migration Division of the OECD. I believe strongly in bridging academia and policy-making, aiming always to deliver insights that meaningfully shape economic and social policy decisions.
Prior to my PhD, I obtained a MSc in Economic Policy from Utrecht University in 2019 and a BSc in Politics & Economics cum laude from the University of Milan.
My work often examines the economic impact of migration, employment dynamics, and fiscal implications of immigration to Europe. In the past years, I have had the opportunity to present at several leading academic venues, including, most recently, the Workshop on the Fiscal Effects of Immigration by ZEW Mannheim, the 8th Workshop on Immigration, Health, and Wellbeing by Oxford University, and the 6th International Conference on European Studies by ETH Zurich.
In addition to my research activities, I greatly enjoy teaching and mentoring roles. At Leiden University, I taught courses in Principles of Economics and International Political Economy. My teaching philosophy prioritises clear communication, student engagement, and real-world applications of economic theories and methodologies.
